MESSAGE:  Eagle has landed in your cards today, and his giant wingspan fans fresh ideas into your world.  This card technically symbolizes this entire deck, since the Mother Road traverses the democratic, American landscape for which this regal bird stands.  St. Louis, Missouri, a powerful river site where bald eagles congregate, represents Liberty...and epic journeys.  Here at the confluence of the mighty Mississippi and Missouri rivers one easily spots these feathered beauties in season, majestically soaring above the crowd.  Long before America’s Main Street, river travel was the avenue of adventure, and this site served as a famous embarkation point for explorers such as Meriwether Lewis and William Clark.

Wherever your consciousness touches Spirit you find Liberty, dear traveler.  Can anyone enslave us?  Or do we hold perpetual jurisdiction over our own thoughts?  Enslavement of the mind occurs only by our assent.  The concept of Liberty encompasses greater space than physical autonomy, and it must be spiritually attained.  Indivisible freedom is an invisible quality of Spirit.  If you believe only in its material reality, you’ve built the bars of your cage.  You’ll achieve dominion over your concepts when you exercise an active, continuous consciousness of your Source.

If we could win fights for freedom, we would already be victorious: humankind has spent thousands of years waging futile wars in the name of Liberty, yet still we battle.  The word “freedom” originally derived from a word meaning “beloved.”  It shares the same root as “friend.”  When you love someone, you set them free; you hold them equal in friendship  rather than judging their worth to be less than yours.  Embrace Equality.  Liberty dawns through realization of our shared Divinity; once you actualize it in your own consciousness, you can help establish its perception worldwide.  Spiritual Liberty never imparts the right to corrupt another, nor to capture war trophies.  The side that strikes the first blow admits failure by showing they’ve run out of better ideas.
