14 RABBIT HOLE

MESSAGE: This blue-eyed bunny shoots a bright gaze at her audience. Are you mesmerized by her hypnotic stare? No stranger to weaving illusion after years spent in a magician’s caravan, Rabbit can hop into top hats or out of them. She’s as accustomed to their satiny lining as to the inscrutable delights of a subterranean warren. She’s as comfy with sleight-of-hand as with scrumptious carrots in her garden. Rabbit remains alert despite heavenly distractions surrounding her like fragrant blooms. Her keenly-tuned senses prepare her to leap down new rabbit holes at a moment’s notice…to uncover a fresh version of reality.
During the magic show, every seat offers a unique perspective; each attendee views a different aspect of the stage. Audience members possess varying powers of observation, but not a single individual can see every part of the action, nor can they look behind the scenes. Each limited viewpoint permits only a narrow vision of the whole performance.
In Indian philosophy, maya represents the delusory world evoked by our senses. Maya conceals the unity of absolute being; when it spins fantasy, we fall prey to our deepest fears. Creation itself is real, but that which we can perceive with our limited senses is not. When one Depression-era stage magician tried to “saw” a woman in half he got stabbed by an audience member attempting to save the girl’s life. The observer felt panicked by the showman’s sleight of hand…but it was his own two hands that wielded deadly force.
Once we learn magic tricks aren’t real, we gain insight. No magician ever pulled a rabbit from a hat without first putting one in there. Are you ready to ascend to a higher level? Enlightened consciousness lacks nothing; it releases us from fearing duality’s deception.
